One idea, and the only reason this movement exists.
Say it: EH-ko ah-teh-SEE-wah-joo.
Atesiwaju (à·tẹ·sí·wá·jú) is an everyday Yoruba word. It means to advance. To progress. To keep moving forward.
That is the whole meaning of this name. Eko Atesiwaju isn't named for anyone. It's named for an idea, and it stands for one thing only: moving Lagos forward.
Yoruba: to move forward · to progress · to advance. The whole reason for the name.
The O is Obafemi — KOH's first name, made into a mark. It belongs to the movement, not the campaign.
Blue for governance: the institution being built.
Green for the economy: the opportunity being unlocked.
Red for the people: the drive that powers all of it.
Black for resolve: the strength to see it through.
It spins because Lagos never stops.
Eko Atesiwaju is an independent citizens' movement. We're not the official campaign, and we're not authorized by or coordinated with any campaign or party. We're Lagosians who believe Kadri Obafemi Hamzat can keep moving the city forward, and we back his record and vision to get it there. That's all this is, and all it has ever been about.
